Bad Batch Development

The concept of the "Bad Batch" arc came up from the creator of the Star Wars "George Lucas." He wanted to explore a unique special force squad with enhanced skills. The arc started the production in 2012, part of the Star Wars season seven. In contrast, the modeling of the members of the Bad Batch is completed a year earlier. The "Bad Batch" writer Brent Friedman released the information regarding the episode on his Twitter in 2014. The primary moral of the arc was, "The best defense is a strong offense." Friedman revealed that the "emotional hook" of the arc is the relationship of the Rex's with the ARC trooper Echo. StarWars.com released the "Bad Batch" and three other episodes of the Story arc on April 17, 2015. A finalized version of the episode was publicized as part of the Clone Wars revival on February 21, 2020.
